Religious Tourism Boosts Commercial Plot Demand
Katra
Katra’s real estate market has received a major push as homestay and hotel projects near the Vaishno Devi temple have attracted Rs 400 crore in investments. This surge in religious tourism infrastructure has driven a 10% price hike in commercial plots, now priced at ₹2,000–3,000 per sq ft.
Developers are rapidly acquiring land near the yatra route and railway station, capitalizing on the year-round influx of pilgrims. The demand is strongest for mixed-use developments, including retail spaces, homestays, and small hotels.
Experts believe this momentum is transforming Katra from a pure pilgrimage stop into a commercial hotspot, offering long-term opportunities in hospitality and rental income.
