Kolkata Logistics Gets ₹600 Cr Boost on NH-6

Kolkata’s Logistics Sector Nets ₹600 Crore Investment
Kolkata’s logistics and warehousing sector has received a major boost, with Grade A logistics developments along NH-6 attracting ₹600 crore in investments. The expansion, covering over 2 million sq ft of new warehousing space, is set to transform the region into a key logistics hub for Eastern India.
Strategically located along National Highway 6 (NH-6), the new developments are backed by private equity firms and institutional investors, focusing on automated warehousing, cold storage, and last-mile delivery infrastructure. These facilities are expected to support e-commerce, FMCG, and 3PL companies operating in and around Kolkata.
Leading developers have already begun construction of state-of-the-art logistics parks in areas such as Domjur, Panchla, and Uluberia, offering scalable modules and Grade A specifications. Leasing activity has surged, with over 70% of the upcoming space already pre-leased by national logistics players.
This development aligns with the state’s industrial corridor push and positions Kolkata as a strong player in India’s fast-growing logistics market. Analysts expect this move to not only increase commercial leasing volumes but also to boost employment and reduce logistics costs for businesses across West Bengal.
