Udaipur Adopts Blockchain for Land Title Clarity

Tripura’s Digital Registry Expands to Udaipur
Tripura has taken a major step toward real estate transparency by expanding its blockchain-based land registry system to Udaipur. Following its initial success in Dharmanagar, the state government has now implemented the system in Udaipur to reduce property disputes, eliminate duplication, and speed up land title verifications.
This digital registry uses blockchain technology to create tamper-proof records of land ownership, ensuring each transaction is securely recorded and traceable. With this move, buyers and investors in Udaipur can now verify land titles instantly through a digital portal, making the property acquisition process more reliable and efficient.
The blockchain registry also integrates with municipal records, survey maps, and previous transaction data, offering a complete and transparent view of land history. This integration is expected to significantly reduce corruption and illegal transactions in land dealings—long-standing issues in many semi-urban and rural markets.
Officials from Tripura’s Department of Land Revenue and Disaster Management noted that the initiative has already improved investor confidence in Udaipur’s commercial and residential property segments. It also aligns with the state’s broader mission of digitizing governance and promoting ease of doing business.
Looking ahead, the government plans to roll out the blockchain registry across other towns in Tripura, setting a precedent for other northeastern states to modernize their land record systems. For Udaipur, this is a significant leap forward in building a more trustworthy and tech-enabled real estate ecosystem.
