Dadra, a key industrial hub in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, is experiencing a notable upsurge in affordable housing demand, especially among economically weaker section (EWS) families and local industrial workers.

Backed by housing board subsidies and infrastructure support, newly launched EWS housing projects in Dadra have reported a 10% growth in sales over the last quarter. The flats, primarily comprising 1BHK and compact 2BHK units, are priced between Rs 15–30 lakh, making them accessible for factory workers, service staff, and small-scale traders working in the region’s industrial belt.

The boost is attributed to government-led housing schemes, fast-tracked approvals, and improved civic infrastructure, including road connectivity and public transport to industrial estates. Local builders and cooperative housing societies are also stepping up to offer budget-friendly homes with essential amenities like power backup, water supply, and proximity to schools and healthcare.

Real estate agents in the region report rising interest from first-time buyers and migrants, especially those employed in textile, chemical, and plastic manufacturing units located in and around Dadra. With rental prices also inching up, many workers now see ownership as a viable and stable option.

Urban planners believe that with continued policy support and planned expansion of public utilities, Dadra’s affordable housing market could serve as a model for worker-focused real estate development across other industrial UTs.
