Kavaratti REIT to Boost Local Hospitality Investments
Lakshadweep | May 2025:
A landmark proposal for Lakshadweep’s first Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) focused on Kavaratti’s hospitality sector aims to revolutionize property investment in the region. The initiative is designed to enable local investors to pool funds and benefit from hospitality realty returns without direct property ownership.

This REIT targets commercial and hospitality properties, including boutique hotels and serviced apartments, providing much-needed liquidity and transparency to the real estate market. Experts believe this will encourage broader participation from the local community and NRI investors eager to tap into Lakshadweep’s growing tourism potential.

The proposal also includes provisions for sustainable development practices and aims to align with the UT’s eco-tourism roadmap, promoting responsible investments.
