Kavaratti’s Building Bye-Laws Drafted

2025 Draft Streamlines Eco-Friendly Construction
Kavaratti | May 2025:
The Lakshadweep administration has released the Draft Lakshadweep Building Bye-Laws 2025, aimed at simplifying approval processes and ensuring eco-friendly construction across the islands, starting with Kavaratti.
The new draft outlines zoning regulations, structural safety standards, and environmental safeguards tailored to the unique island ecology. Officials say these guidelines will promote responsible development while preserving natural resources.
Developers and investors have welcomed the move, citing it as a major step toward transparency and long-term growth in the real estate and hospitality sectors. The draft is open for stakeholder feedback before final implementation later this year.
