Agartala Commercial Leasing Grows 12% in Gurkhabasti Zone

Agartala’s Commercial Leasing Rises 12%
Agartala is experiencing a noticeable upswing in commercial real estate activity, with leasing volumes in the Gurkhabasti area increasing by 12% over the past quarter. This growth is being attributed to ongoing urban infrastructure reforms and an improving business climate across the city.
Gurkhabasti, known for its central location and connectivity, has become a hotspot for office space seekers. With monthly rentals now ranging between Rs 30 to 50 per sq ft, businesses—particularly startups, service firms, and regional branches of national companies—are showing renewed interest in setting up operations in the city.
Several factors are driving this growth. Key among them is Tripura’s focus on enhancing its urban infrastructure, including better roads, utility services, and digital connectivity. The ease of doing business in the state has also improved, with streamlined approvals and government support encouraging commercial expansion.
Property owners and developers are responding by upgrading facilities and introducing flexible lease options, co-working spaces, and business-ready environments. This has made the Gurkhabasti area more attractive, especially for small and mid-sized enterprises.
With urban policy reforms continuing and demand steadily rising, Agartala is positioning itself as a promising commercial destination in Northeast India. Real estate experts believe this trend could extend to other commercial hubs in the state if infrastructure growth and investor interest remain strong.
