Lengpui, a fast-growing zone near Aizawl, Mizoram, is witnessing a notable uptick in commercial real estate activity. Thanks to the upcoming expansion of Lengpui Airport, the region has recorded a 12% spike in inquiries for commercial plots in the last two months.
Developers and investors are eyeing plots priced between ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 per sq ft, with growing interest from logistics firms, warehouse operators, and commercial complexes. This rise is attributed to improved connectivity and future trade potential linked to both domestic and inter-state access from the upgraded airport.
The government’s plan to modernize Lengpui Airport by 2026 includes runway extensions, cargo terminals, and multi-modal access points—fueling anticipation of a logistics and commercial corridor in Mizoram.
As a result, nearby land parcels are being surveyed, subdivided, and listed, creating a ripple effect across Mizoram’s real estate market. Experts view this as a long-term growth node for the Northeast, driven by strategic location and connectivity enhancements.
