The Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) continues to drive rural development, with the central government allocating 50,000 homes for Bihar’s economically weaker sections. This initiative aims to provide affordable, quality housing to rural families, reinforcing the government’s commitment to “Housing for All.”
The allocation is part of a broader effort to construct 2 crore additional rural homes under PMAY-G between 2024-25 and 2028-29. Beneficiaries are selected based on housing deprivation parameters from the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011, ensuring that assistance reaches those in genuine need.
With Bihar’s growing housing demand, this move is expected to boost real estate activity, improve living standards, and create employment opportunities in construction and allied sectors. The government is also conducting surveys via the Awaas+ 2024 Mobile App to identify additional eligible households.
As implementation progresses, stakeholders are closely monitoring fund allocation, construction timelines, and beneficiary selection to ensure transparency and efficiency in the process.
