🏘️ Port Blair’s Affordable Housing Up 12%

Junglighat’s EWS Units See Growing Demand Backed by Government Support
Port Blair | May 2025:
Sales of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing units in Junglighat have jumped by 12%, driven by targeted funding from the Andaman Housing Board and state-led affordability initiatives.
Homes priced between Rs 25–40 lakh are attracting local workers and low-income families, many of whom are benefiting from easy financing options and subsidized schemes. With enhanced access to amenities, connectivity, and quality infrastructure, Junglighat is emerging as a model urban zone for inclusive development in Port Blair.
Urban planners say that the project’s success highlights the growing need for affordable housing backed by public-private partnerships, especially in tourism-dominated economies like the Andamans.
