Ladakh Expands Digital Registry to Kargil

Blockchain-Based Land Titles Debut in Kargil
In a significant step toward real estate transparency and digitization, the Union Territory of Ladakh has expanded its blockchain-based digital land registry to Kargil. This initiative is part of the region’s broader push for tech-enabled governance and aims to streamline property transactions.
The digital registry ensures tamper-proof and verifiable land records, reducing disputes and enhancing investor trust—especially in the fast-growing sustainable housing segment. With this move, Kargil joins Leh in adopting blockchain technology, positioning Ladakh as a pioneer in secure land governance among Himalayan regions.
Officials believe the system will facilitate faster approvals, improve legal clarity, and attract eco-conscious homebuyers and developers seeking transparency in land acquisition and housing development.
