Himachal’s PMAY-U Expansion—2,000 New Homes Sanctioned in Solan

Himachal Pradesh has announced 2,000 additional homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U), reinforcing its commitment to affordable housing despite the Ambedkar Jayanti holiday. This initiative aims to support low-income families, particularly in disaster-affected areas.
The Rural Development Ministry has prioritized housing accessibility, ensuring safe and sustainable living conditions for economically weaker sections (EWS). The expansion aligns with the PMAY-U 2.0 mission, which seeks to construct, purchase, and rent homes for one crore eligible beneficiaries across India#PMAYU.
Experts predict that this housing initiative will enhance urban stability, attract real estate investments, and strengthen community resilience. As Himachal Pradesh continues to expand its housing programs, this scheme is expected to set a precedent for future affordable housing models.
