Himachal’s Digital Land Registry Goes Live—Blockchain Enhances Transparency

Himachal Pradesh has launched a blockchain-based land title system, streamlining property transactions and enhancing ownership transparency in Dharamshala. This initiative, part of the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP), aims to reduce fraud, prevent disputes, and ensure secure land transfers.
The new system integrates e-KYC verification, requiring individual landowners to authenticate their records, eliminating discrepancies in multi-owner accounts. By linking land records with Aadhaar, the government ensures accurate ownership tracking, minimizing risks of benami transactions.
Experts predict that blockchain adoption will boost investor confidence, making land transactions more efficient and tamper-proof. As Himachal Pradesh strengthens its digital governance, stakeholders anticipate smoother property registrations and improved market credibility.
